Last day of drawing class

Hello dears!

I wanted to show you some of the great artwork that was created in my drawing class back in May. I have some of my own stuff but I think it could use some improvement. I don't own any of this and was given permission by the artists to take pictures and post them. These are the final projects that we worked on. They are very surreal and it's left to interpretation. Please enjoy.

June Favorites

Hello Dears!

Hope everyone has been enjoying their week thus far.

This is my first post for monthly favorites and I hope to bring you guys more every month. I see mostly videos on youtube for monthly or weekly favs and I liked the idea so I thought I'd give it a go. I like this because it gives you a chance to see some great products you might not know about or you see something that catches your eye and you might want to try it out. It gives you a glimpse of a persons personality by what products they use and ideas for future purchases.

For June, I focused a bit more on skin care because my skin was looking horrid! It's a bit better now but I still have a few bumps that have not gone away yet. If anyone has any questions about the products or would like me to review them please leave a comment!

Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods Collection. I really enjoyed the body spray.

The tin is an organic lip balm from Abbey Brown and it's amazing! The company is entirely female owned and everything is handmade with olive oil, shea butter, and essential oils. They are a local Chicago company.

No flash of Vassen cloud nine purple lenses.

Flash of Vassen cloud nine lenses. I REALLY like these lenses.

Lorac Porefection powder in PF4

Love this shampoo and conditioner from Trader Joe's. Also love the shine spray from Sebastian because it's alcohol free and smells great!

My graduation!

Hello Dears!

So I'm finally posting about this. (took me long enough lol)
It seemed surreal until now that I would no longer be taking tests and having homework. But I will continue to learn everyday of my life. I don't think it has really hit me that I'm done. It feels just like any other summer before this except that, when September gets here I will be working and not preparing notebooks and a back pack the night before.

Part of me will miss school but I needed this relief, at least for a little while. I might go back to school but first, I want to aim for the Jet program and hopefully next year in July I will be on a plane. I will try my best to keep up with my Japanese and not necessarily become fluent but I want to know enough to hold a decent conversation.

The ceremony for the graduation was booorrriiing! I'm not going to lie, I was falling asleep until they began to call the names of the graduates. Afterwards, my family took lots of pictures and we went to a buffet. My boyfriend and I got a lil' tipsy to celebrate. I had fun and I will miss the time I spent there. I will visit every now and then as an alumni.

Here are some pics that were taken with my camera

The end of my Japanese class :(

Hello Dears,

I was so sad when my Japanese class came to an end back in May. I really liked my teacher, Satoko sensei. She gave great explanations and is one of the BEST language teachers I have had since I've been in school. She said that when fall classes start, we can feel free to stop by and chat with her and help the class. I will definitely be doing this.

She gave me some great material to look at over the summer, to keep up with my Japanese. Unfortunately, I haven't really done that XD... I feel bad because I did really well in the class and I would hate it if I forgot all the kanji and different Te forms. I haven't been motivated lately to refresh my memory. I think I need a new tactic or something to give me motivation. I need to chat with my pen pal more often. I feel like I've been neglecting him... Work has kept me so busy to the point where all I do is sleep on my days off. I'll try and chat it up with him this week.

So to the point lol The last day of class, we watched Train Man aka densha otoko. It was a really cute film and I enjoyed it very much. Afterwards, we made candy sushi and talked about our plans for the future in english and Japanese. I had fun and I hope that I can get into the Jet Program next year.

Here are some pics of my last day of class.

I brought turtle cookies

It began with a fruit roll up and rice crispy treat XD

Navy Pier Drama and updates

Hello Dears,

Soooo... working at Navy Pier has its perks but when you witness drama it's not so much fun. There was a white female and a black male. The girl claims that the guy stole a thousand of something that belonged to her. I didn't hear exactly what she said because there was a huge crowd beginning to form around them. He "swore on his momma's grave" that he didn't take anything from her. She proceeded to get her boyfriend and demand that he take this guy to the parking lot and beat his ass. After that, someone called security and they checked his bag and there was nothing there from what I saw. I don't really know how it ended but I was entertained for about 20 minutes XD (It can get boring sometimes).

There has also been drama at work with me being the "favorite" and other colleagues feeling looked over and disliked. I just do what I'm told and make no complaints. I don't have anything to complain about except that, it can get boring and lonely. So, I'm in the process of writing a letter to human resources along with my fellow colleagues to express my concerns about how we are being treated by our senior colleague. Drama is never good and I hope no one loses or quits their job due to these issues.

In other news, I'll be posting pics from my graduation, last days of class, and other random things that happen. I cannot wait until I go to Vegas in September with my friends. It's going to be crazy! Until then, I'm waiting for August to get here because the Bon Odori festival at Mitsuwa is happening and my mom's birthday is on the 12th. She has done sooo much for me that words cannot express how much I love my mom. I want to do something special for her that is out of the ordinary but I can't think of anything at the moment. :/

If you sexy gals can think of something, please leave a comment! I would really appreciate it!

Late Night Chillage

Hello Dears,

Yes I know "chillage" is not a word but who gives a fuck? The English language has so much room for slang. I don't even understand these new terms that people are saying :/ Anywho... I was chillin' with my friend Blue and her boyfriend Jimmie Lee. She wanted food and it's pretty late. We don't know where we are going and she has this craving for breakfast food as a very late dinner.

So, seeing how most places would be closed, we made our way to Boys Town. Boys Town is the LGBTQ area of Chicago. Besides that, the area offers some great shopping, bars, and general night life for the eccentric crowd. Lots of rockers, punks, goths and other subcultures can be seen in this area. If I had the money, I would totally love to live in that area, but the rent is too damn high!

There is this 24 hour diner called Clark's and it has some of the BEST food and drinks I have ever had. The atmosphere is very chill and the waiters are super nice. Blue ordered french toast and pancakes and I ordered belgian waffles, while her bf ordered chocolate pancakes. I was in heaven when I saw the plate. These waffles are huge and when you ask for a la mode, you get a la mode :) I HAD to take pictures of how awesome these things looked (they tasted even better). If you're ever in Chicago, definitely stop by Clark's in Boys Town and you will not be disappointed.

Anime Central May 2013

Hello Dears,

So last year I wasn't able to attend ACEN due to financial reasons (I hate being broke...) but I was able to go to this years convention and I had a decent time. This was not my best ACEN and I think it has yet to come. The con wasn't too different from previous years but this year the staff seemed a bit more organized but they were still lacking.

I didn't take too many pics because it was the same stuff I see every year. I only wish I had gone to see Yaya Han and all her cosplay glory. She is one the BEST female cosplayer I have ever seen! (fan girl moment XD) Well, I won't bore you lovelies to death with details of my con adventures. Here are the pics I took during the con.
